Both fit .162" holes but the SPP30 has a 1.000" body length versus .581" on the SPP22. The SPP30 is for deep holes or through-holes where you need the plug to extend further to fully seal the passage. The thicker .130" flange adds extra surface sealing.
Use the SPP30 when your .162" hole passes through thick material over .5" or when powder can enter from the back side of the part. The 1.000" body blocks the full depth of the hole, while the shorter SPP22 only seals the first .581" of depth.
Clear distinguishes the long-body SPP30 from the short-body light blue SPP22, even though both fit .162" holes. Different colors for the same hole diameter prevent operators from accidentally using the short plug where a long plug is needed.
Yes, as long as the blind hole is at least 1.000" deep. If the hole is shallower than 1.000", the plug will not seat fully and the head will stand proud of the surface. For shallow .162" blind holes, use the shorter SPP22 instead.
