Hougen Pipe Adapter with Chain for Magnetic Drills

The adapter fits pipes from 3 inches minimum diameter through 12 inches maximum diameter. The chain wraps around the pipe and locks the adapter platform in position, creating a flat mounting surface for the magnetic drill. Pipes smaller than 3 inches are too curved for stable drill positioning.

The adapter is compatible with Hougen models HMD904, HMD905, HMD914, HMD917, and HMD505/508 magnetic drills. These are the standard Hougen fabrication and construction magnetic drill models. The adapter's mounting platform matches the magnetic base footprint on all listed drill models.

The chain wraps around the pipe and attaches to both sides of the adapter platform, pulling the adapter tight against the pipe surface. This creates a stable, flat base for the magnetic drill to clamp onto. The chain adjusts to different pipe diameters within the 3 to 12 inch range without additional hardware.

Magnetic drills need a flat ferrous surface for the magnet to grip. Round pipe surfaces do not provide enough contact area for the magnet alone. The pipe adapter creates the flat surface and the chain provides the clamping force. Without it, the drill will slide off or tilt during operation on curved surfaces.
