Flame-Retardant Goatskin Welding Sleeves

The lower sleeve uses green goatskin leather from wrist to upper arm for spark and spatter protection. The upper sleeve is 9 oz royal blue Westex FR7A FR cotton. Leather seams are sewn with Kevlar thread for heat resistance. The 2.25-inch external elastic holds the sleeve in place.

The sleeves measure 18 inches in the leather/cotton section and 22 inches total length from wrist to upper arm. The goatskin covers the primary work area where sparks and spatter contact is highest, while the FR cotton extends protection up the arm with lighter weight material.

These sleeves are designed for light duty welding only. The goatskin and FR7A cotton provide protection against sparks and light spatter, but they are not intended for heavy grinding, cutting, or high-amperage welding that generates large volumes of molten metal or sustained heat exposure.

Kevlar thread resists heat degradation far better than standard polyester or nylon thread. In welding environments, sparks and radiant heat can melt conventional thread, causing seams to separate during use. Kevlar maintains seam integrity at temperatures that would destroy standard sewing thread.
