This caster is rated at 1,760 lbs per wheel, the highest capacity in the cast iron rigid caster range. The 8" diameter provides the largest contact surface and rolls over floor imperfections that would stop smaller wheels. Use it for the heaviest carts and transfer equipment in your facility.

Use the 8" caster when individual wheel loads exceed 1,543 lbs or when floor conditions include significant cracks, joints, or debris. The larger diameter reduces rolling resistance on rough concrete and requires less push force to start moving under heavy loads compared to smaller wheels.

Cast iron casters require minimal maintenance. Periodically check that the bearing dust covers are intact and the fork mounting bolts are tight. If the wheel develops flat spots from extended static loading, rotate the cart position occasionally. No lubrication is needed on sealed roller bearings.

Cast iron wheels and zinc plated forks resist moisture and corrosion, making them suitable for covered outdoor areas and loading docks. For fully exposed outdoor use on pavement, the wheels will function but may develop surface rust over time. Rubber tread casters are better for extended outdoor exposure.
