The BT-180 is designed for use with the ARC-100 Addressable Releasing Control Panel, PSN-1000, and equivalent fire alarm panels. It provides backup power during AC outages to keep the fire detection and suppression system operational until mains power is restored.
The BT-180 comes with a 24-month free replacement warranty. It is a sealed lead acid battery that requires no maintenance, topping off, or water addition during its service life. The sealed design prevents leakage even if the battery is mounted on its side.
Fire alarm backup batteries are typically replaced every 3-5 years per NFPA 72 recommendations, regardless of whether they have been discharged. Monthly fire safety inspections test battery voltage under load. Replace the battery if voltage drops below acceptable levels during testing.
Standby use voltage regulation is 13.50V to 13.80V. Cyclic use voltage regulation is 14.40V to 15.0V. Initial current is less than 5.4A. The battery operates across a wide temperature range and is constant voltage rated at 20 degrees C for consistent performance.
