Brass Horizontal Drum Vent - 30/55 Gallon

Sealed drums build internal pressure from temperature changes and chemical off-gassing. Without a vent, this pressure can bulge the drum walls, pop the lid seal, or cause the drum to rupture. A vent allows pressure to equalize while keeping contaminants and moisture out of the drum contents.

Brass is non-sparking, meaning it does not create sparks when struck or during installation. For drums containing flammable solvents, paints, or chemicals, a non-sparking vent prevents ignition sources near the drum opening. Steel vents can spark against the drum bung and create a fire hazard.

Horizontal vents mount with the vent opening facing sideways. Vertical vents point upward. Choose based on your drum storage arrangement and available clearance above the bung opening. Horizontal vents work better when drums are stacked or stored with limited overhead space.

This vent fits standard 30 and 55 gallon drum bung openings. It threads into the drum bung hole using the standard 2" or 3/4" bung thread. Verify your drum bung size before ordering. Most industrial 30 and 55 gallon steel and poly drums use standard bung thread sizes.
