This 2-mil polyimide tape is manufactured from commercial-grade polyimide film with a special hi-temperature silicone adhesive. At only 2 mil carrier thickness, it is highly conformable for irregular shapes and curved surfaces. Rated to 500 deg F (260 deg C), it maintains excellent mechanical, electrical, and chemical resistance across a wide temperature range.
Commonly used for PCB conformal coating masking, gold finger protection during wave soldering, powder coating, e-coating, and electrical insulation of coils, motors, and transformers. Available 2in wide.

Construction:
It is used for PCB conformal coating masking, gold finger protection during wave soldering, hot wire leveling, circuit board insulation, powder coating, and e-coating. The 2-mil carrier conforms to irregular shapes where thicker tapes fail to seat.
This tape is rated to 500 deg F (260 deg C) continuous service. It meets Class H requirements and is flame retardant. Suitable for all standard powder coat cure cycles and SMT reflow soldering applications.
Yes. Polyimide tape handles powder coat cure temperatures of 350-400 deg F with margin. The silicone adhesive removes cleanly after cure with no residue. Its thin profile makes it ideal for masking precision edges and small geometry parts.
